Project Features
- Project name: Steel Platforms for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant
- Location: Rooppur, Bangladesh
- Start of works: November 2020
- LMV activities: Fabrication, assembly, and container loading for sea transport of 80 steel platforms.
The project involved the manufacture of a series of special steel platforms for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP), one of the most significant energy infrastructure projects currently underway in Bangladesh.
The work required the highest standards of manufacturing precision, production quality, and process control, in compliance with the stringent specifications demanded by the nuclear industry.
Special Solutions for the Nuclear Industry
The project included the production of 80 structural steel platforms, designed to support the construction, inspection, and maintenance activities of the plant’s nuclear reactors. Each platform was engineered to meet specific functional and safety requirements, ensuring operational reliability in the highly regulated nuclear sector.
LMV manufactured a total of approximately 386 tonnes of structural steel covering a total surface area of more than 12,700 m², managing the entire production process through to packaging and international shipping. The platforms were then loaded into shipping containers and prepared for sea transport to the installation site in Bangladesh.
